TEACHING PRINCE GEORGE TO SKATE SINCE 1971!

SEPTEMBER 2025 REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ALL PROGRAMS.

OCTOBER 2025 - MARCH 2026 REGISTRATION OPEN AUGUST 22, 2025

ADAPTIVE LEARN TO SKATE

PGFSC is proud to offer a sensory-friendly, adaptive Learn to Skate program designed for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, hearing or vision differences, sensory processing challenges, emotional regulation needs, and more. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to experience the joy of skating!

Each skater may choose to have an on-ice helper for extra support (optional). Helpers must be confident on skates, as their role is to provide physical and/or emotional assistance during the session. There is no additional fee for helpers, but they must bring their own skates and CSA-approved hockey helmet.

We will have program assistants and coaches on each session so an on-ice helper is totally optional!

To create a welcoming environment, our sessions are sensory-friendly:

  • No music

  • Visual timers for activities

  • Visual aids and social stories

  • Predictable routines

  • Most importantly – an occupational therapist on the ice every session!
