Learn to Skate

PreCanSkate

  • At this time under COVID restrictions we do not have Provincial Authority to run programs for Pre-CanSkate and Level 1 CanSkate.

This program is the entry level for beginners who are 3 to 5 years of age with little or no skating history. Children are placed into groups according to ability and taught by a Professional Coach and assisted by Program Assistants. The focus of this program is to make skating fun! Skating skills taught, range from learning to stand and balance to going forwards and backwards. The Pre-CanSkate program is a readiness vehicle to prepare skaters for CanSkate. Once the skaters have passed the set criteria and mastered the essentials needed to move safely and effectively on the ice they can be moved into a CanSkate program.

PreCanSkate

CanSkate - Please see notes above.

CanSkate got a makeover!  For skaters 3 years and up.  Exciting new features include a fresh new look, new awards, great tools for coaches and most importantly a tested and proven new curriculum and delivery methods that guarantee skater success in developing stronger basic skill and developing them faster.  But there's more!  The new program also includes specific skills that pertain to hockey, ringette, speed skating and figure skating.  The result is a dynamic new program that prepares all skaters for virtually every ice sport.
