TEACHING PRINCE GEORGE TO SKATE SINCE 1971

JAN to MAR 2025 ONLINE REGISTRATION OPEN

Established in 1971, the Prince George Figure Skating Club (PGFSC) and its nationally certified professional coaches have been offering Skate Canada's acclaimed national skating programs to the City of Prince George residents for 52 years. With over 370 members, PGFSC offers skating programs for all ages and abilities.  Our programming includes Learning to Skate programs for skaters 3 years and up teaching beginning skating skills in groups with skaters of same levels with 6 levels or training; CanPower programs for skaters to build and improve on skills required for hockey and ringette; Figure Skating programs that cover entry level figure skating and continue up to recreational and competitive levels and a Teen / Adult Skating program.

PGFSC strives to provide an inclusive environment that is open to youths of all levels of interest, ability and economic standing.  We are an athlete-centered organization that places the needs of children first and our main goal is to ensure that the skaters are provided with a meaningful, enjoyable, challenging and safe skating experience.  Our largest program, Learn to Skate, is a stepping stone for a successful entry to all ice sports including hockey, ringette and speed skating.  All PGFSC Learn to Skate programs are coached and led by Skate Canada accredited coaches.

PGFSC programs include:
  • PreCanSkate & CanSkate (Learn to Skate programs for skaters 3 years and up for successful entry to all ice sports)
  • CanPower (PowerSkating for skaters looking to improve their skating skills for their hockey or ringette game)
  • Junior Academy (Learn to Figure Skate Program)
  • Figure Skating (Recreational and Competitive Level Figure Skating)
  • Teen/Adult Skate (Learn to Skate for new skaters and Open skate session for previous skaters)

Encourage your children to believe in themselves and that you believe in them too. Be positive in their accomplishments and supportive during the ups and downs. Set goals, foster self-responsibility, discourage excuses, encourage persistence. Support their coach.Winning is not always measured by a medal but by simply achieving a goal they have set.
